Have you ever had a strong feeling or emotion that you can’t easily put into words? Although the English language might not be able to help, chances are one of the world’s many, many other languages may well have just the word you’re looking for.
London-based illustrator Emma Block has created a series of drawings to showcase a variety of words from across the world that say things about love, but which don’t have a direct equivalent in English.
“[The words] were an interesting challenge to illustrate,” Block told Mashable. “I didn’t want to be too repetitive, which meant thinking outside the box a bit. I tried to think about what visuals the words immediately created. Sometimes it was quite obvious how they could be illustrated, others were more tricky.”
